Train like an Athlete, Eat like a Nutritionist, Sleep like a Baby, Win like a Champion
We all are constantly hearing about the benefits of healthy, nutritious, unprocessed whole foods. It really is time that everyone starts to take responsibility for their bodies and everyone needs to start eating more balanced, nutritious meals. There are absolutely no shortcuts to achieving a fit, healthy and toned body. However, our in-house nutritionists are constantly there to support our clients and help them with any questions that they might have about their diet. We tell our clients that – “Fitness is a way of life, not a destination” and we all just need to be more conscious of what food we are putting into our body, especially when we are training or being active.
Our Team have a few products that they use on a daily basis:
– Coconut Oil: It can be used in SO many different ways so make sure to invest in a tub of this. We use Cocowel Organic Extra Virgin Oil which can be bought in your local supermarket or health food shop. We love to cook our turkey and chicken breasts in a little coconut oil and some spices and herbs or mix it in with our home-made stirfrys, curries or smoothies. It’s also great for your skin and hair so rub that coconut oil in all over.
– Blueberries & Pomegranate Seeds: These two fruits are so delicious and so versatile. We love adding them to our porridge, our salads, our smoothies and our yoghurts.
Here’s a favorite smoothie of ours:
Antioxidant Rich Smoothie
1 cup pomegranate seeds
1 cup blueberries
1 cup strawberries
Leaves of organic baby spinach
8 dates, cut in half
2 tablespoons flaxseeds, ground
1/2 avocado, optional
Blend all ingredients together and serve, yum!
– Green Tea: It may not taste as good as a good ol’ cup of Barry’s Tea but it has so many excellent benefits that we cannot help but want to drink it. You can try mixing green tea with other healthy ingredients such as ginger, mint or lemon too. We drink 4-5 cups a day!
– Eggs: We adore organic and free range eggs here at Educogym – boiled, scrambled, omelettes…they are just so versatile! They are an excellent source of protein and we love adding them to our salads at lunchtime or having a warm omelette filled with lots of fresh vegetables including spinach for dinner.
